According to regulations, the formaldehyde emission of indoor building materials must be less than or equal to 1.5 milligrams per liter. If it exceeds 5 milligrams per liter, it is considered substandard. Secondly, it is important to consider the moisture content of the wood. When the moisture content of the wood is higher than the equilibrium moisture content of the environment, the wood will dry and shrink, and vice versa, it will absorb moisture and expand. The main cause of wood cracking and deformation is high or low moisture content. When making a purchase, don't just aim for cheap prices. Materials sold at low prices are usually shoddy and severely exceed formaldehyde standards. You should go to a reputable market and buy branded materials. 1、 Joinery board: Good moisture-proof effect, cannot be directly painted
The center of the blockboard is a core made of natural wood strips bonded together, with thin wood veneer on both sides, making it one of the most important materials in decoration. It can be used for furniture, wooden doors and door frames, heating hoods, curtain boxes, etc., with good waterproof performance. When selecting, look at the internal wood and avoid excessive fragmentation. It is advisable to use fine wood boards with gaps of about 3mm between the wood. Due to the unattractive wood grain exposed on the surface, it is rarely painted directly and usually requires the use of decorative plywood. Furniture and other wooden objects made with it need to go through two processes: using adhesive boards and painting, which is more expensive.
2、 Integrated board: not easily deformed
This is an emerging type of solid wood material, made from high-quality imported large-diameter logs that are finely processed and interlocked like fingers. Due to different processes, this type of board has superior environmental performance, which is 1/8 of the allowable formaldehyde content of blockboard. On the other hand, this type of board made from solid wood such as American spruce can be directly colored and painted, saving a process compared to blockboard.
3、 Medium density board has poorer nail grip than particle board
Particle board is a natural wood that is crushed into particles and then pressed into boards. It is currently the main material for cabinets. Medium density board is formed by pressing powdered wood chips, which have good flatness but poor moisture resistance. In contrast, the nail holding force of density board is poorer than that of particle board. If the screws loosen after tightening, due to the low strength of density board, it is difficult to fix it again, so it is rarely used for cabinet construction.
4、 Decorative three panel: convenient and affordable
Multilayer board, also known as sandwich board or plywood, has different names depending on the number of layers, and its quality mainly depends on the raw materials. The main method used in home decoration now is the veneer three plywood, which means that very thin solid wood veneer has already been applied to the three plywood in the factory.
